UK shepherd's hut makers
Who makes huts, where, and what they charge, from small workshops to bigger firms.
The short answer: the UK has dozens of hut makers, mostly small workshops. Prices start at about £12,000 and reach £65,000 or more. Below are 22 makers with the prices on their own websites, checked on 23 October 2026, grouped by region. Visit a workshop before you order if you can.
None of these makers pays us to appear, and we haven't inspected their huts. Prices change, so check them with the maker. We don't show review scores, because most makers have too few reviews on any one site to compare fairly.

How to choose a maker
- Visit the workshop or a display hut, and ask to speak to past customers.
- Ask what's included: insulation, electrics, stove, kitchen, bathroom and delivery.
- Ask how VAT applies, and how long the guarantee lasts and whether it transfers to a new owner.
- Ask about lead times: Cumbrian Shepherd Huts, for example, quotes about 16 weeks.26
